Our Sporting Stars

At Glebeland we are incredibly proud of the achievements of our children both in school and out

Katie Middleton -Gymnastics

Katie trains with the Norfolk Academy and recently took part in a national gymnastics competition "Miss Quatro - The Jewel of the South" and she did extremely well.

Katie competed in all four disciplines Bars, Floor, Beam and vault and gained a very impressive 14th place out of 38 competitors in spite of a fall on the beam.  This is even more impressive when you consider Katie was competing against 10 and 11 year olds but is actually only 9!

Regional Grades

Katie competed for her Regional Grades last month gaining the highest marks in her age group category.

She will represent Norfolk in an Eastern Region Competition later this month.

Xavi-Brae Holmes

Another of our sporting stars is Xavi who is an accomplished tennis player.  Xavi is a member of the Norfolk under 9s squad and is currently ranked number two in his age group of all the players in Norfolk.

To be this good takes dedication and Xavi trains four times a week both in Gorleston and Norwich.

He was recently a member of the squad which beat Suffolk in a tournament and will be playing again shortly when Norfolk take on a team from Essex

Isabelle and William Last

There may not be many mountains or a lot of snow in Norfolk but there is a dry ski slope in Trowse in Norwich and Isabelle and William have become accomplished skiers as a result.

On 4th March they spent the weekend competing and training at the Norwich Snowsports Centre and both came away with medals - Issy won a bronze in the girls Eagles level (the top level for girls) then she and William both won gold medals for competing in the Night Slalom races.

The weekend was rounded off with training sessions as both William and Isabelle have been selected to race as part of the Norfolk Ski Team.  Who needs mountains! ;-)

As well as skiing isabelle is also a keen runner and a member of the Beccles and Bungay Harriers.

Isabelle recently represented Glebeland at the Norfolk Schools Games Cross Country Tournament at Greshams School in Holt and came a very impressive fourth in her race.

Also representing Glebeland in the tournament was Quinn Campbell who ran in the Year 3 boys competition.  He finished a very respectable 49th out of 72 competitors.

Well done to all of them !
